MSO Celebrates the 2019 Blount Slawson Winner

Join us as we feature the talents of Raymond Tsai, the winner of the 2019 Blount Slawson Young Artist Competion. Fifteen year old Raymond Tsai began his musical trainings at the age of four on the violin, later switching to cello at the age of seven. He is currently a student of Prof. Wendy Warner at Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music. As a soloist, Raymond has appeared with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Georgia Philharmonic Orchestra, and Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra. Raymond also enjoys performing chamber music. He has previously attended Bowdoin International Music Festival. He performs music frequently in retirement homes and other venues around Columbus, GA and Birmingham, AL areas, along with his family members. Outside of his music studies, Raymond enjoys painting, cooking, and outdoor activities.
